REGION VI CHAMPIONSHIPS
May 5 & 6, 2010

Events both days will begin at 3:30 pm. Please read all of the following meet information and entry instructions carefully.

MEET INFORMATION AND ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS
There will be the standard Region VI cost of admission to enter the meet. Coaches may use UHSAA cards to get into the meet and athletes must be in uniform.
Coaches must submit their entries via RunnerCard. Entry deadline is Monday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. The seeding meeting which will be held in the Media Center at Woods Cross High School and will take place Monday May 3rd at 6:00 p.m. Sandwiches will be provided. Any challenging of marks will need to take place there. Each school should bring their results in case of any challenge. After the seeding meeting, the entries will be final.
Canopies will not be allowed in the west bleachers. Canopies in the east bleachers and outside the track are fine.
Entry limitations are the following: 52 individual entries in all scoring events. These do not include the one relay team that you are allowed in each of the scoring relays. You need not register those participating in the pole vault, unseeded mile or the 4 x 800 relays because they are not scored. Just have those athletes check in at the vault or at the starting line before their event starts.
All heats and flights will be pre-determined by the entries and seed marks. Each athlete will just need to check in at their event or at their starting line.
We will score eight places, and will include marks from all heats and flights. Pyrobrite timing system will be used.
Individual events and relays will be scored: 10 - 8 - 6 – 5 – 4 - 3 - 2 – 1
All field event participants will receive marks, there will be no minimum standard.
Starting heights will be determined at the coaches seeding meeting.
Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and Long Jump contestants will have three attempts in the trials. The top nine will advance into the finals for an additional three attempts.
Per UHSAA, the top 4 athletes in each individual event and in the relays at the Region Meet will qualify for the State Championships.
Current High School rules (34.92 degrees) will be used in the shot put and discus.

Event Assignments- each school will be asked to staff the following events:
High Jump- Olympus
Long Jump- East
Pole Vault- Woods Cross
Shot Put- Highland
